This Weekend in Gay Camping – July 28-31 2022

by | Jul 26, 2022 | Gay Camping | 0 comments

You can always go to a gay campground anytime and have a blast. There are always great people around to meet, places to wander and explore, and everything else that you would expect from a campground or LGBT resort.

Which theme weekend should you choose? Themes only define the activities, but don’t define the people who will be there. You’ll have a great time no matter what which you choose!

The Woods Campground

Most gay campgrounds have theme weekends and parties to accompany them. You can choose to go camping and not partake in any parties. We suggest not taking the theme too literally – unless you want to!

We are currently at Shadow Falls in British Columbia, Canada, on our Big Gay Camping Tour Summer 2022! In the area? Come join us!

Shadow Falls

BC (British Columbia) Day

Harrison Mills, BC (Canada)

(A little over an hour from Vancouver, minutes from the US border)

There’s no better way to celebrate the social, cultural, and political landscape of the region than by exploring the hidden waterfalls, pools of spring water, and a big BC Day Chilli Cookoff on Saturday, July 30.

Up for grabs: a spot on the coveted “Plaque of Chilli Champions.”

Camp Mars

Gay Games Weekend

Venus, FL

(South of Lake Placid, the closest city)

Camp Mars is situated on over 40 acres of beautiful Florida countryside. You can explore trails, forests, streams, and two ponds with all sorts of wildlife. Men 21+ are invited to this “simply camping” clothing-optional resort.

Friday July 29

Gather together at 9pm for the big Gay Games Opening Ceremony with Torch Lighting Bingo, followed by a community Movie and Campfire at 10:30 pm.

Saturday July 30

Let The Games Begin at noon! Get ready to be all gay and sporty! Wind down the big day with a Key West Sunset Party (bring a dish to share) followed by a Victory Disco.

Sunday July 31

Relive the excitement while relaxing at the pool all day, followed by a Game Night and Movie at the Rec Hall.

The Woods

Bears at The Woods II

Lehighton, PA

Convenient from NYC and Philly

Bear Weekend is so popular that The Woods has launched a second. And a third, and a fourth! Every weekend is sold out at The Woods, so give a call to see if there are any last-minute openings. Everyone of age is welcome at The Woods, and remember to BYOB for your drinks between meals at the on-site restaurant.

Not a bear? That’s OK! Remember, themes are part of the fun, but no need to take it too literally.

Thursday July 28

First time at The Woods? Join Brad on a Woods Initiation Tour at the Lanai, followed by a Big Gay Pool Party and Luau Bears Party, and Club Night with DJ David Petrilla.

Friday July 29

After breakfast at the Café and a Big Gay Pool Party in the afternoon, head over to the Bear Week Dance Party or the Bonfire.

Saturday July 30

At 10 am, start your Saturday with Vinyasa Flow Yoga with Dan, and make sure to stop by the Novus Medical Services bus anytime from 10 am – 3 pm for free and confidential HIV and STI testing and your Recovery Meeting at 10:30 am. There’s volleyball all day, and a Naturist Hike departs from the Garden Gazebo at noon.

Please Feed The Bears Dinner Buffet at the Café leads into the Broadway Bares All Charity Drag Benefit, followed by a Grizzly Dance Party and a Pizza Parlor Bonfire.

Saturday July 30

Wind down your weekend with an epic Sunday Brunch Buffet, Relaxing Massage, HIV/STI Testing, and Yin Yoga (Benji’s favorite!) with Dan.

Rainbow Ranch

Women’s Summer Splash

Groesbeck, TX

We can’t let the men have all the fun, right? Head to Rainbow Ranch in Texas, a clothing-required inclusive LGBTQ+ campground welcoming all, for a hot Texan weekend with all your favorite ladies! It’s Pride O’Clock Somewhere!

Meet & Greet all your new camping friends at the pool on Friday, and slide into the weekend on Saturday with a Mimosa & Bloody Mary Bar. That will get you in the mood for Poolside Shots & Games, followed by a night out with Barbie Spinning Jams.

Do you know of an event to feature or want your campground to be on our weekly events list? Let us know in the comments below, or contact us!
